Tell me about Franklin's people

Franklin serves an increasingly diverse student population. In the 2001-2002 school year:

  • 40 of the 60 staff members are certified teachers. Nine teachers are dually certified (five ESL & regular certification, four Special Education & regular certification).

  • The student body is 62% Caucasian, 13% Latino, 12% African American, 12% Asian.

  • 25% of students qualified for free and reduced priced lunches.

  • 13% of the students qualified for ESL. 75% of these students receive free/reduced lunches.

  • 5% of the student qualified for special education. 33% of special education students receive free/reduced lunches.

  • Hmong and Spanish speakers compose most of the Limited English Proficient (LEP) populations.

This diversity has led Franklin to develop robust Title 1, Special Education and LEP (Limited English Proficient) programs to adequately serve students.
